Just some data FYI

I came across this information and thought I’d pass it along.
(from Interpreting Galatians, by Moises Silva)

In Paul’s writings, he uses the:

Aorist Subjunctive: 314 times
Present Subjunctive: 172 times

Aorist Infinitive: 225 times
Present Infinitive: 285 times

Present Imperative: 322 times
Aorist Imperative: 75 (excluding ASPAZOMAI)

Use of verbs by Paul:

FRONEW: 12 times, always in the Present
ERCOMAI: 35, always in the Aorist
SWZW: only used in the Aorist

GINOMAI: Present Imperative: 22; Aorist Imperative: 2
GINOMAI: Present Subjunctive: 23; Aorist Subjunctive: 2
(Compare Epictetus: Present Imperative: 13; Aorist Imperative: 2
Present Subjunctive: 3; Aorist Subjunctive: 35)

Just out of curiosity, any particular reason come to mind as to why Paul’s
use
of GINOMAI in the Subjunctive is nearly the reverse of Epictetus’?

The point I think that Silva is making seems valid to me. He seems
to be arguing against analyzing a particular Verbal Aspect in a
particular context without first understanding HOW this word/phrase
was generally used by the same author and/or his/her contemporaries.
