CRISTIANOS is a diminuative of CRISTOS. However, the
basic meaning is one who belongs to the party of Christ.
Also note hHRWiDIANOS (Mt 22:16) would be those who
were of the party of King Herod. Was it a negative term?
It would depend on who was using it. Tacitus, a Roman
historian of the late first century, certainly used it in a
negative way, but Peter used it in a positive since,
insomuch as one was to glorify God in that name.

All the best.
