John Painter* suggests that the agent of TETUFLWKEN and EPWRWSEN is
different than the agent of IASOMAI.

Note the differences in the LXX and Matt 13:15.

For EPWRWSEN Jn 12:40 (LXX - EPACUNQH) the MT has

hashmen VERB hifil imperative masculine singular.

Anyway, Painter maintains that in John 12:40 the agent of TETUFLWKEN and
EPWRWSEN is the devil. R.E. Brown (AB), D.A. Carson (Pillar), L.Morris
(NICNT, 1st ed.) make the agent the same for all three verbs.
