Unless this has changed lately, that is not Univ. of Chicago's list price. Last I knew it was, I think, about $90. Perhpas it has gone up, but I think what is more likely that U/Chg. is not giving wholesalers or retailers their accustomed 40% discount, so that they are *adding* 40% to the price so they can still make their "normal" profit.

And yes, by all means shop the web on this one. AddAll is one of the better sources to do that.

Actually if you consider what you're getting, the price isn't all that bad. I know we always want it cheaper, but when I compare that with the price of college textbooks--esp. science, etc.--which most students will buy once, read rarely, but never more than one semester (& "lab manuals" that are desinged to be disposable are the worst!)--then I think a tool that will be used every week of your life is quite a bargin. (I'm sensitive to the college textbook issue since my 3 kids have just finished going through school!)

And to answer another query that just popped up on the list, yes, there *is* (or will be shortly if it's not out now) an electronic copy available in Logos format as well as for Mac in Accordance--but there the price *is* much higher than the print version.
