Hi,
What is the exact meaning in the context (including both the specific meaning and the cultural meaning or intention as the word was used in Greek in that time) of the Greek word translated as "to be dug through" in Matthew 24:43 and Luke 12:39?
Does it mean that a thief of those times used to "dig through" for example under or through a wall of a house in order to get into the house??
Or does the "dig through" mean that the thief would dig through the possessions of the house (allegorically "shoveling" all the possessions away) ??
Thanks very much for your insights.
