BlankGreetings all,
Luke 22:31 SIMWN SIMWN, IDOU hO SATANOS EXHTHSATO UMAS >>TOU<< SINIASAI WS
TON SITON.
My rather literal take on it: Simon Simon, behold satan desired ye >>of
the<< to separate/sieve as/like wheat.
My conversational take on it: Simon Simon, behold satan desired to
separate/sieve you as/like wheat.
Explanation of the conversational take: Simon was [targeted ] to be
separated from his fellows, the "ye" in the literal take.
Would someone be so good and help me; it seems to me that Peter was so
targeted, no?
RSV: Simon, Simon, behold, Satan demanded to have you, that he might sift
you like wheat,
kind regards and thanks, Mike Dewus
