Brion:
As far as TDNT is concerned, there is a far more serious caveat that you
should entertain.

It is summed up in the title of an article by Maurice Casey in " Novum
Testamentum " vol. 41/3 (1999):
 >>" Some anti-semitic assumptions in the TDNT " <<.

A name that has some prominence in this article is that of Walter
Grundmann, who contributed articles to all volumes of TDNT, except for 5 and 6.
You will find out more about him in an article in the 1994 volume of "
Church History " [ pp. 587- 605 ] but, once again, the title alone is
informative:
 >>Nazifying Christian Theology: Walter Grundmann and the Institute for the
Study and Eradication of Jewish Influence on German Church Life<<

Regards,

Maurice
