Hello fellow scholars,

I am new to the list and wonder if one of you might help me with the Greek
rendering of a word from First Timothy.

Paul is encouraging Timothy to continue with the reading of scripture, and he
writes:

"Until I come, devote yourself to the pubic reading of Scripture, to
preaching and to teaching." (1 Tim. 4:13)

I wonder what is the exact word for preaching in that sentence? Can someone
tell me?

Thanks, in advance,
Stephanie Bennett

"The desert will rejoice, and flowers will bloom in the wastelands. The
desert will sing and shout for joy; it will be as beautiful as the Lebanon
Mountains and as fertile as the fields of Carmel and Sharon. Everyone will see the
Lord's splendor, see his greatness and power."

Isaiah 35:1-2
