Learning Language by Musical Melody
I very much would like to learn Greek and believe combining music with my language study would be very helpful. This musical method would be true for learning any new language. The melody of a song in itself speaks the words of a song and thus if one is greatly familiar with a song he very much can know the words through the melody alone. Now if I could listen to songs that I naturally know the words by the melody, and which instead of giving the English words would give the Greek words which corresponds with the melody, I believe such would be very helpful in teaching me the words of that language. I in listening to such music naturally could largely tell what the strange sounding words are and mean by the melody. In listening to many such songs repeatedly a person would have real opportunity to learn many words of the language.
Even if their are a different amount of syllables and words involved in giving the message of the song in the other language, yet it still is very possible to insert those differing words and syllables into the melody in a way as nicely and intelligently corresponds with it. Note their would be no need of making the song rhyme in the other language. If sometimes the other language says things backwards, possibly that backwards way of saying it should be avoided. Note before the song is sung, one could give clarifications on some such complications. Although everything likely would not match word for word etc, yet over all it appears this musical method would be very helpful in learning a new language.
It appears the best way of learning a language is by simply hearing it and becoming familiar with it as in it's common usage. If one really knows a language it is a part of his subconscious mind. One in normal speech is not thinking nouns, pronouns, verbs, adjectives etc. Although knowing such parts of speech likely has some value, yet children learn to talk and use words long before they realize what nouns, verbs, adjectives, etc are, and realize they are using them.
