Well, it seems as though I believe that you exist Waldo (where's
Waldo?--bet you have heard that before). The statement says that in
order to please God, you must believe two things, one, that He exists,
and two, that He becomes a rewarder of those that diligently seek Him
through faith.

I think the grammar is stating that accepting His existence is not the
only thing necessary if one desires to please Him. One must also
understand that God's plan entails particular rewards for believers,
which is the subject of the section that follows. Their faith in God's
word and the fact that they were focused on the fact that God does
become a rewarder of those that pursue him. Heb. 11:14,26
Further, it was the reward that motivated the God/man to make the
applications He made at the First Advent. Heb. 12:2

Some have suggested, if not outright stated, that for believers to seek
rewards is somehow less than honorable, but this context certainly
militates against such a conclusion.

For the list, I am aware that this answer is theological, but it appears
to me that it flows clearly from the grammar of the text.
