A clean copy will be needed. I have ready to hand all three volumes of a
1977 second printing of the Second Edition; the pages are clean and could
readily be scanned, even if the binding of the paperback editions is a bit
weak. Perhaps others whom this may reach have copies also that could be
made available for scanning. Rather than scanning and publishing each page
of the original as a graphic, it would certainly be preferable to capture
the characters with the best available OCR program and formulate the
(English and Greek) text in Unicode. My question is: are there one or more
persons among the membership of either or both lists (B-Greek and Biblical
Languages) having the expertise, equipment, appropriate software, and the
readiness to commit (read "donate") the time and effort to carry out such a
project. If it should be necessary, I could and would, as a retired person,
copy out the text myself for preparation of a PDF file, but surely it would
be preferable to scan all or at least all of the English text and convert
it with an OCR program and then, if need be, type the Greek elements into
the English text thus converted.

If you can get me a legible image, I can do the transcribing and formatting
in html. I have Unitype GlobalWriter and can do the Greek and (if there is
any) Hebrew. Count me in.
