[B-Greek] KAI IDOU

Hi all.
I am working on the particle construct KAI IDOU in Matthew. It seems to me
that it is a temporal marker, making a break between sections. It could be
translated "and then..." Looking through Matthew, it occurs 29 times, only
3 of which may not fit this concept.
Does anyone know of any studies about this? I know BDF talks about KAI IDOU
as a Hebraism, but I have a feeling that is outdated (they themselves point
out it is found in Homer). I know that Bock in his commentary on Luke in
the BEC deals with it a bit, but nothing overly substantial. Does anyone
else know of some resources or have some ideas?
Thanks,
- Ron Fay
