[B-Greek] hETEROI KAKOUPGOI in Luke 23:32

Hello Bert and gfsomsel,
This is a very interesting question and the answer seems to be in the
meaning of the word hETEROS(hETEROI). Looking in BDAG page 399 at entry #1
it says,"pert. to being distinct from some other item implied or mentioned,
'other' " We find hETEROI listed under 1. b. Beta. which gives Luke 23:32
and translates KAI hETEROI KAKOURGOI DUO as "also two others, who were
criminals" In other words the two others were distinctly different from
Jesus.
Also BDF in sec. 306(5) page 160 gives the translation as "and, besides,
two malefactors"
So we can see that hETEROI is actually separating(or contrasting) Jesus
from being the same as the two criminals.
