For the uninitiated--
Both Sanday & Headlam AND Cranfield are from the International Critical
Commentary, a fact I omitted from my initial response. I own both, and
prefer Cranfield. S&H is excellent, although--what? 60 years?--out of
date when Cranfield was published. And Cranfield is more detailed.
But Polycarp is right, anything from the ICC will be worthwhile. Many,
especially the newer volumes, are the best available commentaries for a
particular book (e.g., Cranfield, Davies & Allison on Matthew, Marshall
on the Pastorals, etc.)

Just the omission of Jane Austen's books alone would make
a fairly good library out of a library that hadn't a book in it.
