I'm a novice or barbarian myself but would just add a thought to your
question and wait for a reply from some of the more advanced Greeks.
>From what I understand until a son was of a particular age they were
treated and taught as servants to some degree until they formally became
sons and were given more authority. I don't know but they may still have
had some authority in certain areas over other servants wich might
suggest PAIS as a higher ranking DOULOS. Luke 12:45 uses PAIS as
seemingly a servant with authority over other servants. PAIS may be
either a high ranking servant or a future possible HUIOS.
