[B-Greek] virus warning

First of all, sorry for the off topic post, but I am just trying to save
someone some trouble

You might want to check your computers for the klez virus. I have
started receiving about 3 or 4 of them a day. I have pretty much
narrowed it down to coming from someone on this list or 1 other list.
The problem with the klez virus (as far as tracking it down) is that you
can not go off of who it says that the message is sent from. The worm
takes addresses from the infected computer's address book, ICQ database
or local files at random and puts that as the from address. Even if you
have a virus scanner, make sure the definitions are up to date. Klez
came out about sometime last summer and has 6 variants now. The variant
that I am getting now is W32.Klez.H at mm worm. It is spread through email
and exploits a bug in outlook and outlook express. The subject of the
email and the attachment name are both random so you can't just go by
that. You do not need to open an attachment for this virus to infect
your computer. The main thing that it does is that it tries to replicate
itself by sending itself to various email addresses that it finds on
the infected computer. It also tries to turn off any virus protection
software program before the computer boots. It also makes the computer
unstable, many times to the point that it does not boot. Sorry for the
long email about this.

I am just trying to show the need for caution with viruses. If you do
not have a virus protection program on your computer you can go to most
of the virus softwares website and they have a free scan that you can
use if you are connected to the internet. I know that Norton, McAfee,
and PC-Cillin websites have a free scan and Norton has a Klez virus
removal tool that is free if your computer is infected.
