Dear Kevin
Lateo-latere-latui-latum is an intransitive verb meaning to be hidden,
or "latent". Compare the Greek LANQANW - LANQEIN.
Pateo-patere-patui-patum is an intransitive verb meaning to be revealed,
exposed, or "patent". Compare the Greek PETANNUMI.
For the rest, see the comprehensive post from Paul O. Wendland.
(Thank you, Paul!)
