I found an interesting passage in the LXX that gives a
general distinction of LOUW, NIPTW, and PLUNW.
Lev 15:11 ...TAS CEIRAS OU *NENIPTAI* *PLUNEI* TA hIMATIA
KAI *LOUSETAI* TO SWMA hUDATI KAI AKAQARTOS ESTAI EWS
ESPERAS
Lev 15:11 ...without having *rinsed* his hands in water
shall *wash* his clothes and *bathe* in water and be
unclean until evening
it seems clear here that (at least in this context):
NIPTW = rinsing hands
PLUNW = washing clothes
LOUW = bathe body in water
