In fact it is unfortunate that the myth of the demise of the middle voice
in Koine Greek has been so widely and loudly promulgated; it's simply not
true. If you care to pursue this, you might check in the archives my
message entitled "Koine Middle Voice: Myths and Clarifications (LONG)" and
dated August 5, 2003. I give URLS there for two sites at which my longer
