Here is the version of the New Jerusalem Bible.

Hebrews 2:16
16 For it was not the angels that he took to himself; he
took to himself the line of Abraham.
The New Jerusalem Bible: Reader’s Edition, 1990

And a comment from Louw/Nida:

"Though the meaning of ‘help’ is possible for EPILAMBANOMAI in Heb
2.16, the more generally accepted interpretation is ‘to be concerned
with’ or ‘to take an interest in’."
