In a quick check of my own archives ranging back to 1991 I found well over
500 messages more or less concerned with John 1:1c. I rather doubt that
something new will be said on the matter at this point, but I admit I could
be wrong about that. Among the most pertinent items in the recurrent and
never-quite-conclusive discussion are:
1/19-22/96 Qualitative QEOS in John
1/22-24/96 A Bayesian Analysis of Jn1:1 (long)
9/19-23/97 John 1:1 QEOS definitely definite?
It should be noted too that discussion of this matter, as might be expected
in view of the fact that it is a point of heated dispute between proponents
of different theological orthodoxies, has been called to a halt when the
discussion comes to focus more upon theological implications than upon the
range of meaning(s) that may be deemed grammatically reasonable in
understanding the Greek text.
