I cast my net as far as possible, but I have to admit my throw is very
limited. I don't have access to all of the references and example texts
that many on the list have.
Do any of the examples you found have both the subject (the person being
circumcised) and a reference to someone who seems to be the person somehow
responsible for getting the subject circumcised? There are examples in both
the Old and New Testament that talk about a particular person being
circumcised, but I don't think there are any beyond what I listed that
directly addresses the issue of who might have done the actual procedure or
was somehow responsible for it occuring..
Here is a challenge to the group. What would be the minimum alteration
required to the existing text to make it unambiguous that Paul did the
actual procedure on Timothy and conversely that he arranged it, but someone
else did it? The trick here is to keep the same words in the same order
as in the existing text,, just add something that will make the meaning
certain,.

I won't "tear it up". But I will ask whether you've cast your net widely
enough
in the literature of the time to warrant the inductive leap you've made
regarding what the "linguistic evidence" indicates. A quick search of the
TLG
shows that there are more examples of the use of the verb with a specified
"subject" than you've taken into account.
Yours,
Jeffrey
