According to the Perseus databases, for FUSIOW Middle Liddle cites only
the NT,
and gives the sense 'puff up'; so, with BDAG, it takes FUSIOW to be
derived from
FUSAW, 'blow, puff, puff up [etc.]' BDAG notes that FUSIOW is used as a
variant for FUSAW in epic poetry.
However, the Perseus version of LSJ takes FUSIOW to be derived from FUSIS,
'nature', and glosses /'dispose one naturally'/, but with little support.
Is there adequate support for this latter sense (and etymology) of FUSIOW?
Many thanks
