Dear Eddie,

>KAI EPIQENTOS AUTOIS TOU PAULOU CEIRAS HLQE TO PNEUMA
>TO hAGION EP AUTOUS, ELALOUN TE GLWSSAIS KAI
>EPROFHTEUON

>I think I ran across this in the archives but can't
>find it. What grammatical or syntactical rules govern
>which verb GLWSSAIS modifies? Does its position
>(between the two) lend support to it modifying both
>verbs?

GLWSSAIS goes with ELALOUN, since TE is postpositive, joining ELALOUN
with the previous material. The key is that GLWSSAIS precedes the
KAI, and so goes with ELALOUN.
