Yes, it simply means "Christian" and was a coined word which later occurred
with variations of spelling. Acts 11:26 states that it was first used to
describe disciples at Antioch, and the documentary evidence does not
disagree. The word occurs on a large number of inscriptions, as well as
papyri. Civil officials used the term to describe people who were known to
be Christians.
