Here the AUTON is simple 3d-person pronoun: DI' AUTON = "through him, by
means of him, through his agency." AUTOI is intensive "as you yourselves
know."

>Acts 2:36 ASFALWS OUN GINWSKETW PAS OIKOS ISRAHL hOTI KAI KURION AUTON KAI
>CRISTON EPOIHSEN hO QEOS, TOUTON TON IHSOUN hON hUMEIS ESTAURWSATE.

Here AUTON is direct object of EPOIHSEN, while KURION and CRISTON are
predicate accusatives: "God has made HIM both Lord and Messiah ..."

>Romans 9:3 HUCOMHN GAR ANAQEMA EINAI AUTOS EGW APO TOU CRISTOU hUPER TWN
>ADELFWN MOU...

Here AUTOS is intensive like AUTOI in Acts 2:22: "I might pray to be
accursed myself ..."

Remember that there are THREE distinct functions of AUTOS:
(a) in predicative position AUTOS hO ANHR: intensive "the man himself"
(b) in attributive position hO AUTOS ANHR: identity "the same man"
(c) simple 3d-person pronoun AUTOS/AUTOU/AUTWI/AUTON: "he/his/him/him"
