1 Tim 2:12 DIDASKEIN DE GUNAIKI OUK EPITREPW OUDE AUQENTEIN ANDROS...
1 Tim 2:12 But I do not allow a woman to teach or exercise authority over a man...
the grammar of 1 Tim 2:12 sort of baffles me. why is GUNH in the dative? is ANDROS the "object" for both DIDASKEIN and AUQENTEIN? why is ANHR in the genitive and how might this affect its relation to both DIDASKEIN and AUQENTEIN and its overall function in the sentence? is the arrangement somewhat like the following?
DE
SUBJECT: X
VERB: OUK EPITREPW
OBJECT: [SUBJECT: GUNAIKI/VERB: DIDASKEIN OUDE AUQENTEIN/OBJECT: ANDROS]
