The labels attached to the NIV committee does not grant it the
designation "ecumenical". It's descriptive of a process as much as
anything else. You are right that the UBS/NA is a smaller group, though
they use the wealth of published material on each variation group.
As I said, I should shut up, because I'm not going to take the time to
hunt out all the prospects for bias, and I'm not going to post a single
reading as an example because I do think that's nothing more than a
theological conversation. For me to post a text-critical reading, for
the sake of then saying why it's too conservative to fully represent
the will of God in Jesus Christ as testified in the scriptures is,
well, out of bounds for the forum.
I don't think I have anything else to creatively add to the topic at
hand.
