Romans 16:2
KAI GAR AUTH PROSTATIS POLLWN EGENQH KAI EMOU AUTOU
As the text stands, Paul puts a heavy emphasis on the fact that Phoebe
was a PROSTATIS of his. It may be just me, but EMOU AUTOU does not look
as a standard phrase.
My question, however, is it possible to make sense of these two variant
readings:
KAI GAR AUTH PROSTATIS POLLWN EGENQH KAI EMOU KAI AUTOU
KAI GAR AUTH PROSTATIS POLLWN EGENQH KAI EMOU TE AUTOU
Is there an idiomatic usage 'of me and his' meaning something like
'everyone'?
Many thanks,
Dirk Jongkind
