I personally responded to Matthew with the following text, remember this is
coming from what used to be one of the staunchest KJO people on the planet -
I just started doing balanced reading of the facts:
Hey there Matthew,
I have a T.R as well. I dont use it much anymore, however. The truth is
about the editions is there are many different editions of the T.R and the
truth is that the "Stephanus 1550" T.R (do a Google search for several free
copies on the net) was used in the King James Version of the Bible. You can
even find many different editions on Ebay as well. I was bidding on a
Scriveners 16xx just the other day on EBay!
Over at www.tbs-sales.org is the T.R that most colleges (that still use the
T.R) teach Greek with. More specifically
(http://www.tbs-sales.org/site/sales/category.asp?id=3#) Scroll down a bit
and there it is titled: Koiné Greek New Testament (Textus Receptus)
The question for you is why? If you would, please read this article I have
put here at the bottom of my e-mail. It was in the Detroit Baptist Seminary
Journal Volume 1. It is some of the best reading on the subject for a fair
minded person I have ever read.
(with the special formatting, I couldn't paste the article in here so here
is the URL - http://www.dbts.edu/dbts/journals/1996_1/ERASMUS.PDF

I was wondering if you could give me advice about which Greek Textus
Receptus edition I should order? I came across your three-year-old post by
searching for "Pierson Publishing Group," after seeing their listings on
Amazon for various Received Text editions, hoping that ordering directly
from them I could find cheaper deals than what Amazon was offering. However,
I too could not find anything on them on the internet. Perhaps they never
existed, or perhaps they went out of business, but do you know where I can
find a good (and hopefully affordable) Textus Receptus?
Thank you,
Matthew Dickinson
