[B-Greek] Unicode for typing Greek

I use Bible Windows software (no endorsement, just information) and I've
gotten used to their simplest font, SGreek, for routine Greek typing
(including class handouts, tests, and so forth). But in trying to post
handouts to a course website (in Adobe Acrobat, so students won't
necessarily have to acquire a particular Greek font, for all the reasons
that have been cited on this list before about computer capability issues),
I've finally figured out that SGreek won't imbed in Acrobat, and I've been
advised to move to a Unicode Greek font.
So now I'm over my head. Are all Unicode fonts embeddable? What choices do I
have, where do I find them, and where do I get a keyboard map (perhaps the
most important part, since I'm going to have to re-learn my Greek typing)?
Is there a site where someone's already answered all these questions? I
don't think this question is too off-topic, but since it's about computer
use and not strictly about Greek per se, I'd welcome replies off-list if
that's more appropriate. Many thanks.
