Leon, I would suggest the following for reading: The Text of the NT by Bruce
Metzger, An Introduction to NT TC by Harold Greenlee, The Text of the NT by
Kurt and Barbara Aland, and The Text of the NT in Contemporary Research edited
by Bart Ehrman and Michael Holmes. For on-line sites, among others, don't
overlook the excellent sites by Mark Goodacre (www.ntgateway.com) and Wieland
Willker (http://www.uni-bremen.de/~wie).
