AFAIK none of the main Bible software uses Unicode, so you will need the
fonts it installs. Unicode does, however, provide the best option for
anything you type yourself, because anyone else opening your documents will
not need the same font, only any Unicode font which has Greek characters
(and accentuation).
The new standard for Unicode is OpenType which is also completely cross
platform Mac OSX and Windows 2000 / XP.
As I said originally and Mark has reinforced, the easiest tool is the
Classical Greek Inputter
http://users.ox.ac.uk/~tayl0010/letters_table_caretpos2.htm
Type in this, click the select button, and paste it into your document.
Done. (there is a help key which tells you which keys provide which accents
and characters to help you get going)
General information on Unicode can be found at http://www.unicode.org/
Any student at a recognised institution can get a good collection of
Opentype fonts in the Adobe Type Classics for Learning package from
www.adobe.com or appropriate country website, at what is for fonts a bargain
price.
More about OpenType can be found at
http://www.adobe.co.uk/type/opentype/main.html
