Text: PAS hO PISTEUWN hOTI IHSOUS ESTIN hO CRISTOS, EK TOU QEOU GEGENNHTAI,
KAI PAS hO AGAPWN TON GENNHSANTA AGAPAi [KAI] TON GEGENNHMENON EX AUTOU.
Inasmuch as 1 John 5:1 has two parallel independent clauses, there are TWO
main verbs: (1) GEGENNHTAI is the main verb of the first, and (2) AGAPAi is
the main verb of the second. The subjects of both verbs are substantive
participial phrases: (1) PAS hO PISTEUWN hOTI IHSOUS ESTIN hO CRISTOS, and
(2) PAS hO AGAPWN TON GENNHSANTA.
