My current interest is the letters of Paul and Polycarp to the
Philippians.
I consider that the principal grammatical interest in Paul's letter to
the Philippians seems to focus on
1:7 (DIA TO ECEIN ME EN THi KARDIAi hUMAS). Whether it is translated as
"You hold me in your heart" (NRSV) or "I hold you in my heart" (ESV)
seems to be matter of opinion. Also in Polycarp's letter the principal
interest possibly revolves around whether EPISTOLAS (3:2) is best
translated as "letter" or "letters" in its context.
I would be very grateful to hear what other topics are considered the
main grammatical points of interest in these two letters.
May I take this opportunity to thank all those who contributed to the
list in the past year and to wish all list members a very good Christmas
and new year.
Noel Fitzpatrick.
