It seems as if the phrase 'para tou patros' later in the verse points toward
this being translated 'taught BY God'. In addition, BAGD says that para with
a personal genitive indicates that something proceeds from that person. In
this case then it would be teaching that proceeds from God the Father.
What do you think? Do you know some of the reasons for translating it
'taught OF (about) God'?
