We may be talking about the same thing.

authenticity to national users, I wouldn't discount the XP layout
overmuch because it dates back to the original Greek support in
Windows, I've been using it for several versions of the OS. I'm
guessing there are some Greeks who are quite comfortable with the
Microsoft Greek layout who never even used an actual typewriter. :-)

I am asking for consideration of the Windows XP layout. It is called
the Polytonic keyboard and is activated in XP as an additional
keyboard. It should be the same as the basic Greek typewriter layout.

This layout may not follow the Greek typewriter keyboard, but it does
follow
the Greek Windows XP layout which I use. If the issue is authenticity
to
national users, I wouldn't discount the XP layout overmuch because it
dates
back to the original Greek support in Windows, I've been using it for
several versions of the OS. I'm guessing there are some Greeks who
are
quite comfortable with the Microsoft Greek layout who never even used
an
actual typewriter. :-)

>Well, it took me two weeks, but I did get the utility into
penultimate
shape. KeyInGreek is an app for OS X 10.2 and up that assists in the
visual typing in of Unicode Greek text. It features adding
diacriticals
after the primary characters and auto-pasting.

Also, as Randall stated before, a true keyboard input is the ultimate
goal, so I have finished creating a Unicode Keyboard Layout for use in

OS X tailored specifically to keying in Biblical Greek. I'd love it if

folks could have a look at the proposed keyboard layout in the .pdf
file and make any suggestions before I post the Keyboard file itself.

Personally, I would recommend using the national Greek typewriter
keyboard
layout as the base. The above link and layout are not such a keyboard.

E.g., omega is 'v', upsilon is 'y' and theta is 'u', chi is 'x', psi
is 'c'
and ksi is 'j'. 'w' places a final-lunate-sigma. Fortunately, the
others are
similar to English.

If one is going to use unicode one might as well use a standard
keyboard.
You just might be typing on a terminal in Athens someday.

Roy Brown of Accordance, with appropriate foresight, provided an
Israeli
Hebrew keyboard option for Hebrew. Please consider the same for the
Greek
side of the equation. I have a friend here in Jerusalem who uses
Accordance
and is 'going unicode', he would appreciate a Greek version.
