Is the greek preserved in the byzantine text type
different from the Koine greek that the NT authors
wrote in?
_________
No. The Byzantine text tradition is simply one of the text traditions that
developed. Most scholarship today relies on a critical text which attempts to
reconstruct what might approximate to the original by means of various
criteria. One of these is that a reading not be limited to one geographical area.
The Byzantine text represents a text which evolved in the eastern churches under
the Byzantine Empire -- hence the name.
