I assume that this is supposed to indicate a lack of understanding.  Randall 
Buth is / was a member of this list who is in Israel and teaching an Ulpan 
using Biblical Greek and Biblical Hebrew.  He has a course which he has put 
together.  I think this is the URL for his Hebrew course.

I'm not sure about the Greek, but as I recall he claimed that Koine was more 
nearly related to modern Greek in pronunciation than to classical.
