Dear Austin,
You are not blind. The -S- can be explained.
We have here a verb originated from TELOS.
The stem of the verb is originally TELES-.
So we should get TETELESTAI indeed. In other forms of different tenses and
moods the S was dropped or changed according to historical developments.
