I trust that we all know that Jesus was talking about eating His flesh
and drinking His blood as a metaphor for faith...eating and drinking
symbolize faith, something common to every member of the human race.
His flesh symbolizes His person, His hypostatic union of deity and
humanity. His blood symbolizes His work on the cross, between 12-3 PM,
when He bore the sins of the world. We have access to His person and
work, by faith. (Rom. 5:1). In some ways, the discussion of the
grammar here, as it seems to me, only clouds the true issues of which He
was speaking.
