[B-Greek] Finding a quality leather Greek NT

Hello all,

As I mentioned earlier this morning in my first post to the forum I have
been trying to find good quality leather editions of the Greek NT for
years. Through searching occasionally in Google for such a premium
text, I have found B-Greek Mail List and I have passively read through
some of the hits the search engine has produced.

Now that I have officially joined and partook in the mail list, can we
discuss in good detail the topic of my concern: Finding a quality
leather Greek NT. And to even make it harder, I would really enjoy
finding a "Wide Margin" (wm, hereafter referred) edition which is
leather.

In the summer of 1993 I was in Chattanooga, TN as a senior counselor and
in charge of grounds maintenance for the summer session of the Camp Joy
Summer Camp, a ministry of The Highland Park Baptist Church. Others may
know this as the home of Tennessee Temple University. At that time I
met a young man by the name of Kevin Woodruff, others may know him as
Kevin Woodruff, M. Div and Professor of NT Greek at TTU. At that time,
he was the Library Director and quite frankly, this man was a walking
library. It was once said that he could either give a short summary or
either quote from a portion of every single book in the TTU library, and
I found this to be as true as I could "test" him *evil grin*. Kevin
unknowingly became my hero for a decade. Brother Woodruff is a visitor
and one who has mailed into this system, as per some of my recent
searches have discovered. Bro. Woodruff, may I say that every time I
open my Greek NT, which is daily, I think of some of the conversations
we had. You have met so many people in the past 11 years you probably
couldn't remember me to save your life. I remember that you carried the
Greek NT (I can't remember whether it was the UBS or the N-A) to Church
and S.S with you and it was usually found on your person. It was
leather. It was the first leather Greek NT I had ever seen and I became
enamored with the idea; after all, why should the Greek NT not have the
same respect and appreciation as an English Bible by being wrapped in
leather and having good premium paper. While in Bible College (Crown
College - www.goforthecrown.com <http://www.goforthecrown.com/> ) the
following fall semester I called CBD (Christianbook.com) and purchased a
Nestle-Aland 26th (this was shortly before the 27th was released) wm
which used a hardback, cloth bound binding. The margins where
incredibly large; larger that I have ever seen in any Bible, English or
otherwise. I also purchased a UBS 4th Edition which was the exact same
as http://www.christianbook.com/Christian/Books/product/?item_no=56494
<http://www.christianbook.com/Christian/Books/product/?item_no=56494&eve
nt=S> &event=S .  I absolutely love the UBS 4th Edition's format of
text, section summaries and layout, however I love the N-A for it's wide
margins.

I so dearly desire to have a UBS 4th Edition leather, but Black leather
is preferred. I haven't seen such a Bible. If I remember Kevin's
Bible, it was Black Leather as well. This link goes to CBD and is to
the ONLY leather UBS 4th I have ever seen -
http://www.christianbook.com/Christian/Books/product/127528089?item_no=0
4886
<http://www.christianbook.com/Christian/Books/product/127528089?item_no=
04886&netp_id=129749&event=ESRCN&item_code=WW>
&netp_id=129749&event=ESRCN&item_code=WW

I would really like to have a UBS 4th Edition wide margin, even if it
isn't leather for study purposes in the office, if there has ever been
one published.

I have found the closest thing I think I am going to find, however the
reason for typing this is to see just exactly what others have, use and
know is available. This item
(http://www.bibles.com/product_detail.asp?CatalogName=ABS%5FNEW
<http://www.bibles.com/product_detail.asp?CatalogName=ABS%5FNEW&Category
Name=&ProductID=105448&ProductVariantID=105448>
&CategoryName=&ProductID=105448&ProductVariantID=105448) is found at
Bibles.com and is interesting to say the least, however there is no
picture. I have e-mailed customer service for more information and a
possible interior and exterior picture. The only problem is it is a N-A
27th and I do desire to have a UBS 4th. I know and understand that the
N-A 27th and the UBS 4th are the exact same text, however the critical
apparatus is different and, as mentioned above, the layout is different.
Also, I have been a Logos (www.logos.com <http://www.logos.com/> ) user
since 1.5 and I am excited that they have in prepublication status B.M
Metzger's A Textual Commentary on the Greek New Testament (2nd Edition),
Stuttgart: Deutsche Bibelgesellschaft, 2000.
http://www.logos.com/products/prepub/details/1903 . With this thought
in mind, having a N-A 27 would for my main study and notation would be
kind of frustrating. I also know and understand that I could simply
pull the UBS 4th out when studying Metzger's book, but this is just
frustrating.

After a lot of searching I have basically not found one single solution
that meets my needs, but two or three solutions that if combined would
be the ideal situation. I have also thought about having my UBS 4th
bound in leather, which would be nice, but the paper used on the UBS 4th
is less that Bible paper quality. Does anybody know of a Bible
re-binder?

Thanks for your help and time, and Bro. Woodruff, if you're reading,
shoot me an e-mail :)
