The following message has been posted on the "general" newsgroup on the
Logos newsserver.
I read the B-Greek list, but am not able to post. We have it subscribed at
the corporate level here at Logos/Libronix, so the posts are available on
the network to read -- but not to post in reply.
If you'd like to forward this to the B-Greek list, feel free.
Regarding searching the NA27 apparatus in the GBS' Stuttgart Electronic
Study Bible (SESB) project -- yes, this type of thing will be possible in
the SESB edition. Much like the print edition of the bottom-of-the-page
apparatus segments its information (papyrus, uncials, miniscules, latin mss,
versions, fathers, etc.) the electronic version is also broken up, at least
internally. These are each 'fields'. Noting that the Didache is classified
as a 'Father' in the NA27, one could simply search with:
fathers:Didache
in the electronic edition to find all instances where the NA27
bottom-of-the-page apparatus cites the Didache. FWIW, the Didache appears to
be cited only four times -- in Mt. 6.9, 12 (twice) and 13. Three of those
are 'replacement' style variants, one (v. 13) is an 'addition'. If I only
wanted to find 'replacement' instances:
replace:Didache and fathers:Didache
This returns Mt 6.9 & 12.
Similarly, one could search for, say, all citations of Codex Bezae:
uncial:D
or instances of Sahidic Coptic citations:
version:sahidic
The SESB will contain two resources representing the NA27. One is the Novum
Testamentum Graece (NA27 Text). The text is formatted like the print NA27
(even has the sub-paragraph spaces) and has apparatus indicators inline,
just like the print. The apparatus indicators, when clicked, link to the
second resource (NA27 Apparatus) that can scroll in sync with the NA27. Note
that the screen capture (very early prototype) at
<http://www.libronix.com/page.aspx?id=pr2002112401>http://www.libronix.com/page.aspx?id=pr2002112401
shows this type of
arrangement for both the NA27 and the BHS.
Please realize I'm just speaking regarding functionality -- the SESB is
still in development. Any queries as to date of release should be directed
to the German Bible Society as the Stuttgart Electronic Study Bible is their
project/product, Libronix is simply their technology provider.
