Thank you Chet, for the B-Greek transliteration chart!
It looks like B-Greek and Strong's are VERY similar except for the following:
Alpha in Strong's-
( I don't understand this)-
"A, when final, or before p final or followed by any other consonant, is
sounded like a in arm: elsewhere like a in man"
What can A be, other than:
final,
part of a dipthong,
followed by a consonant?
I can't think of a single incident where I understand this to mean "a" in man.
Strong's alfa is (al fah)
The "a"s are different here, right? If they were the same, they would be (ahl
fah) right?
I think many of the "a"s in Strong's are like man, but It doesn't seem to
match up with the rule as I understand it :-(
AI in Strong's-
AI (ahee)
That is AWFULLY awkward to say!
Is B-Greek "AI" like "eye"?
When I say "aisle", I say "eye l"
Is that right?
Can anyone comment on what they think of Strong's pronunciation and if there
is a better resource that gives a transliteration and phonetic spelling for
every word in the NT.
