By saying "used to" I did not intend to imply that all of these Jews
frequently participated personally in the sacrifices in Jerusalem. I
understand Acts 2:10-11 to indicate that a good number of both Jews and
proselytes from Rome DID travel to Jerusalem for at least one of the yearly
feasts. And I assume that those who did not have the means to travel, was
told about the adventure in great detail from those who went. In any case,
the sacrificial system was the central part of the Jewish religion, and
therefore all would be very familiar with the purposes and practices of
sacrifices, both from what they saw or heard themselves and what they had
read or heard from the OT. Of course, when the Temple was later destroyed
and sacrifices ceased, the situation changed.
