[B-Greek] Coat of what?

Some folks are saying the word used is PASSIYM others say it is POIKILOS.
Do we have an issue of textural inconsistancy?  If so I can see why some
translations render it one way some the other.

I guess I am as confused as any.  Why would we be discussing a
translation of Gen. 37:3 when we can refer to the original, which is as
follows KeTHONeTH PASSIYM.  The first term means a tunic, a long
sitrtlike garment.  The second term means the palm of the hand or sole
of the foot, and the entire phrase has the sense of a garment of the
hands, or a garment of the feet, which has to do with how much of the
body it covered, not the color.   I recognize that the word is somewhat
obscure, but the sense of it seems to be long robe that was worn by
those that were noble (IISam. 13:18-19).  The point is really in Jacob's
obvious favoritism and the mental attitude sins it produced in Joseph's
brothers.
