i'd argue that the context argues for a difference in meaning simply b/c the the flow of the author's is toward the organic growth of the entire body (cf. vv. 1-4, esp. 16) and not a working of any one individual part (i.e., apostle, prophet, evangelist, pastor-teacher). that's why i wasn't necessarily only interested in the particular verse but the concept in general. theology is a danger in such an area and i was interested more in concept rather in that particular situation (i.e., Eph 4:12). thanks again for your help.
