I have considered purchasing the NJPS, and based upon my browsings through
it at Barnes and Nobles in times past, I believe the NJPS does in fact on
occasion translate from the LXX, but only when the Hebrew text is obscure. I
may be incorrect on this, but on my next trip to Barnes and Nobles I will
look and see if I can come up with any examples :-)

"Some people think they are thinking, when they are merely rearranging their
prejudices"
Attributed to William James

" All things come in pairs, one opposite the other, and he has made nothing
incomplete. Each supplements the virtues of the other. Who could ever tire
of seeing his [God's] glory? "
Sirach 42:24,25 New Revised Standard Version
