Are there any on the list who are familiar with the field of second language
acquisition in general or the Natural Language theories of Krashen in
particular?

Many discussions on the list revolve around the merits on one book or
another, yet the bigger questions seem to fall between the cracks. Second
language acquistion studies have quite a bit to say about the following.

What works when someone wants to learn a language efficiently?

What impedes learning?

What does it mean to learn a language?

Are students aiming to be able to read Hellenistic literature extensively
and with relative ease, (comparable to reading Dumas, Flaubert and Moliere
for French lit interests)? Afterall, beyond the NT we have Josephus,
Epictetus, Plutarch, Church fathers, non-canonical literature, papyri and
secular Greek like Lucian, Philostratus, KAI TA LOIPA.

Blessings
