Dear George,
BDAG lists Mark 12:12 "that he had spoken the parable with reference to them" (NWT with them in mind) with reference to a personal object.  It also lists other examples in this _same_ section such as Mt 27:14 which has an inanimate object.

Do you have a lexical reference to support your distinction of an inanimate accusative object to PROS as being distinguished in the manner you specify and therefore having a different sense?

Perhaps you would benefit from reading PROS in BDAG.
